Edge Pan Pacific restaurant buffet

Lets check out the Edge Pan Pacific restaurant buffet with a dine-in. The restaurant offers an international selection of cuisine in an open-concept self-help buffet. It is tucked in the third level of the Pan Pacific hotel Singapore in the Marina bay district.

Large food spread and varieties

At first impressions, Edge’s spread is huge. The restaurant is large by buffet standards, it is a scene typically seen in older hotel buffet areas. Additionally, each food section is spread over a large dining area with each food “island”. Notably, the dining area is large, spacious and well-lit through large glass windows. It is great for large groups and far tables for added privacy.

Furthermore, great main buffet staples includes their Beef Roast, Salmon fillets and country vegetables. At times you can find turkey for poultry roast, otherwise their chicken is great too. Also, there is also an oriental counter dishing out local delicacies such as Chicken Rice. Also, here you can find other Asian selections such as Ayam Panggang and Laska.

Also, the asian selections are mostly served on cast iron pots like those we saw when we last dined at the Carvery Alexendra. The seafood section offers crab claws and mini lobsters freshly served on bed of ice.

In addition, their chilled angel hair is a must-try. It is a pasta dish and pre-prepared by their in-house chef on counters. Also, their bread section is a dedicated one, but otherwise one of the least popular of the islands.

Delectable Sushi and Sashimi

Moreover, commendably is their large sushi selection. The Japanese food section is rather delectable too. It offers free flow of sashimi and delightful tako (octopus). Notable, most buffets I go to have these as controlled items. It is surprising that the Edge has them open here.

A highlight here at the Edge Pan Pacific are hearty free-flow servings of Japanese food.

Additionally, completing the offerings is Desserts. The edge desserts section comprise of an assortment of cakes and pastries. The thing to go for here is their curated local selection of Singaporean flavoured desserts, such as durian pudding. You can grab these in from chiller counters manned by a dedicated dessert chef.

Wrapping up, the buffet here is reasonably priced for the large offerings, especially the free-flow premium Sashimi. Dining at the edge sets you back $78++ for adults and $39++ for children on Monday and Tuesdays. Also, the weekend prices are slightly higher from Wednesday to Sunday, with the buffet going at $88++ for adults and $44++ for children. This puts the Edge on the same price point as that as Shangri-la line.

All in all, Edge restaurant buffet at Pan Pacific Singapore offers a really great value proposition for the quality and large range of food offered. This coupled with a great buffet setting and vast conducive restaurant makes it one of the few best buffets in the bay area. Make sure you have the space for it!

Verdict:

Must Go! | Actually pretty Good | Worth Trying | Shortlist Optionally | Should Avoid
