Great Eastern Women’s Run 2023

The Great Eastern Women’s Run (GEWR) is back again this year, held on Sunday Morning, 29 October 2023 at the Singapore Sports Hub.

Furthermore, the mission of the Great Eastern Women’s Run is to inspire women to lead active and healthy lifestyles. Also, it encourages women to take charge of their well-being and making fitness a part of their daily lives. Notably this mission is one of camaraderie too, it is about more than just running. It’s about building confidence, breaking down gender barriers, and celebrating the strength of women.

Race Categories

This year’s event features a range of race categories to cater to different fitness levels and goals. There are 5 different events this year each with their own running distances this year. The event sees the bringing back the well-loved 21.1km half marathon, 10km, and 5km Individual categories, as well as three smaller “bite sized” distances from 100m to 2km for the little ones.

Hence, there is an event for all sport appetites. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting on your fitness journey, there’s something for everyone. The categories includes the flagship 21km half-marathon, a 5km Fun Run for those looking for a leisurely experience, an a middle-ground 10km race for those seeking a bit more challenge.

Looking at past year’s Great Eastern Women’s Run races, the route might take a route starting from the Sports Hub and taking you sights along the Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage and East Coast Fort road. The route is similar to this year’s Army Half Marathon Run.

Here are all the running distances of the event:

  • 21.1km individual and competitive: The most popular category, with 21.1km through the Singapore Kallang basin area. It is the event’s longest distance, allowing you to stretch your limits, break your personal record. (5:15 AM Flagoff, S$57 for policy holders, S$64 regular fee).
  • 10km individual category and competitive: The 10km event is a more managable distance. Pace yourself as you reach for greater heights (or rather, distance)! Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 runners of this category. (6:30 AM Flagoff, S$47 for policy holders, S$54 regular fee).
  • 5km individual category and competitive: (7:30 AM Flagoff, S$30 for policy holders, S$37 regular fee).
  • 2km Mummy + Me family category: A family event where Moms can do a run with their daughters (aged 5 – 12) starting with 1 girl, up to 3 girls. It is a great opportunity for parent-child bonding. Mummies and daughters who run together, stay together. (S$46-78 for policy holders, $56-94 regular).
  • 100m Princess Dash category: A short sprint dash race at the Sports hub. This is a family and little ones (girls aged 3 – 6) event, targeted to provide one huge step forward for the little ones to start out into their fitness journey. (policy holders, S$18, regular S$25).

Moreover, there is an event discount fee for for Great eastern policy holders. Registration is open till 2 October 2023. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 runners of the the 21km and 10km categories. There is also complimentary Personal Accident Insurance offered to all participants aged 3-70 years of age.

Runner entitlements and race notes

Also, all participants are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes before their flag-off time for baggage and forming up. You are also encouraged to wear the race t-shirt on the Race Day. There is baggage available at the sport hub and you may deposit your belongings at the baggage check-in counters provided at the event.

Wrapping up, Runner’s entitlements includes a race t-shirt and tote bag, which be couriered to the address specified during your registration. Unlike past year’s There is no race expo to collect your pre-race entitlements.

Only the finisher’s medal and finishers blue T-shirt be issues at-event as a post-race Finisher Entitlements at the Athlete’s Welfare Area upon completion of your race.
