What on the menu
Stirling Steaks is known for being a steak specialist, a restaurant and butchery offering fresh or cooked meats. Their charcoal-grilled steaks is their unique offering, where they tout to be able to offer all cuts so you can “eat the entire cow”. Here, you can choose from 10 types of beef steak cuts, including tomahawk, ribeye, sirloin, T-bone, rump, flank and more. These are prepared using chilled fresh beef from Australia.
Also, the restaurant prides itself on grilling over traditional charcoal, which imparts a distinctive smoky aroma and helps retain the meat’s juices. This is quite reminiscent of the charcoal fired claypot rice we previously had too. Moreover, you can also customise your steak by choosing the size, doneness, and sauce. Also, your steaks are cooked to your desired done-ness, which I would recommend Medium-rare.
A place for steaks
I found their steaks offers a smoky charcoal flavour and not overly dry. Though the juiciness could be more consistent throughout the steak, where it tend to be very dry and burnt near the ends. Also, your mains are served with a variety of sides, such as mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, and fries.
Also, the menu caters to various budgets, from expensive highlights like Wagyu Flight, Tomahawk, and a Black Angus Steaks. If choosing a cut is too complicated for you, you can go for their standard meal offerings, with prices starting from a $9.90 value steak meal.
Also besides steak, Stirling steaks also has grilled chicken, duck breast, fish and chips, salmon and burgers on the menu. Though not their forte, it makes for a rather comprehensive western grille offering. Their Stirling burger ($15.90) one one worthy of a mention, Angus beef patty with tomato shiitake mushroom and fries
Platters for sharing
Furthermore, for large group craving steaks, their Tomahawk platter ($128) comprising of 1.5kg Angus tomahawk steaks with sizable portions suitable for 3-4 pax. It is also served with sides of Paprika fries, garden salad, corn and grilled vegetables. The greens are fresh and fries freshly cooked and hot.
Also, there are cheaper alternative sharing platter combinations comprising of 500g angus steak and 200g Flank streak costing $63.50, and 1kg Bone in ribeye for $98.50, served with grilled vegetables and fries. These platters have a lower variety, but is more wallet friendly portions suitable for about 2 diners.
Steak buffet for the hungry
Additionally, if you are feeling adventurous, you can also try the steak buffet. It is available daily at limited dining times from 12pm to 3pm, and from 6pm to 9pm. The steak buffet tad allows you to enjoy unlimited steaks, for a fixed price of S$40 per person for lunch, and S$45 per person for dinner. Also, the free flow steaks here comprises of unlimited meat servings of sirloin, picanha (queen of steaks), hanger, grilled beef or pork shabu, chicken thigh and dory fillet. The pricing is reasonable for the type of steaks offered and a viable alternative to hotel buffets typically priced twice more.

Here, you can buy various cuts, ranging from ribeye to tenderloin, as well as other meats like chicken, pork, duck, lamb, and seafood. Purchases over 2kg enjoy a 30% wholesale discount. This themed bars that mimic the old-school secretive and exclusive atmosphere where such establishments used to operate secretly. Speakeasy often have hidden entrances, coupled with vintage décor with a bar at the far end, leather sofas, and a focus on craft cocktails, providing tad a unique and nostalgic drinking experience.
