Bergs Gourmet Burgers

Bergs Gourmet Burgers is a value burger joint in Singapore. The establishment has two branches, one at East Coast Road near Katong shopping center, as well as their second branch along the buzzing Haji lane near Arab Street. Also, they claim to offer the Best Gourmet Burgers in Singapore. Let’s check them out today with a dine-in.

Both their Haji lane and East Coast branches offer similar choices of outdoor and indoor air-conditioned seating. They are situated in pre-war shop houses with 5-foot walkways in front of them. Also, seating is done over high tables and booth tabled seating. Notably, artistic depictions of their burger are all plated on posters on their shop walls. This helps making your menu decision tad easier than the picture-less menus.

Moreover, Berg’s staple menu selections includes mainly beef and chicken burger options. Their restaurants also served alcohol on-site. Options range from bottled IPAs to beer on tap, though you be also are good with their non-alcoholic standard selections. Their restaurant set-up is similar to that offered by incumbents Wolf burgers and Fat boys for instance, and more conducive than fast-food orientated outlets, like Fat burgers for instance.

In addition, if you can’t decide on a burger, you can’t go wrong with the standard BERG burger. It costs a rather affordable $13.5 for a large and $11 for a regular small. It comprises of Prime Beef Patty, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Aioli & BERGS Sauce. The BERG forms the start of their Beef selections, with varying permutations offered.

For instance, you can have your Berg with cheese for a dollar extra with a choice of Cheddar, Swiss or Blue Cheese. Also, don’t get the name Miss piggy fool you into a pork burger. It is essentially a bacon burger, still topped filled with prime beef patty as you get with the BERG with cheese but loaded with extra greasy Streaky Bacon ($16.5 large /$14 small).

Additional menu selections down the burger list seems to build up on each other. Going up the list is Crikey Too ($18). You get Prime Beef Pattie, Streaky Bacon, Pineapple, Beetroot, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Cheddar Cheese, Aioli & BERGS Sauce.

The BFB for the hungry

Moreover, if you demand more premium options or just plain hungry, there is the THE BFB ($22) and Wagyu selections (BERG $20). The Wagyu burger is more of a premium offering with Wagyu Beef Patties topped with Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Double Cheddar Cheese, Aioli, Bacon Bourbon Jam Served in a Sesame Seed Bun.

All in all, Bergs is not a bad burger place in the heart of town where you can get an affordable meal for under $20 a pop. Such places are a rarity already in a rather crowded gourmet burger market in Singapore. Bergs is a burger joint worthy of a chill out visit.
