If you are looking for good cheap western food, this is a good time to be alive. The Singapore western food scene is probably at one of the riches it had been in the years since the Botak Jones era. Char-Grill Bar started out offering really affordable premium western food right in the heartlands.
If that rings a bell that’s right up other western food establishments such as Astons and Collins. The interesting fact is that Chargrill, despite being around in Singapore for one of the longest is not really one which had an expansion as aggressive as the other two brands.
What’s on the menu?
Still, Char grill is all about serious into offering what they do best- Offering really sizable cheap western food without breaking the bank. I found their menu selections adequate for what you expect from a western food joint. Also, their stores are mostly your standard Western food store situated in coffee shops. If you can’t decide what to order, a recommendation will be chicken chop (also you can’t go wrong with chicken). Also, their burger selections includes handform rock burgers, as well as American-style Mega Cajun Chicken Burger set $10.

Char grill’s pasta offerings are small but sufficient. There are 7 different varieties. You have choices revolving around permutations of aglio-olli, spaghettis and carbonara. Prices affordable $6.90 to $7.90. To top it up on offerings, Char grill offers 4 different varieties of salads, ranging from Caesar salad with a base ($5.00). Additional meat toppings of beef, fish or chicken sets you back $7.50.
All in all, Char Grill Bar is a pleasant addition of western food stores in the rather crowded premium western outlets. They are excellent if you want a cheap fuzz-free meal without the fat. Notably, they had been around for a long time with over 31 different branches all over Singapore.
Though the prices of their items offered is not as affordable as those as Collin’s coffee shops, it is made up for their reasonable quality is consistent across their branches with good service to boot. Their Holland village restaurant branch is one worth visiting. However, the quality at their coffee shop branches could be quite a gamble, which could actually at times, turn out to be quite a gem.
