Warcraft 3

0

Finally managed to find some time to play Warcraft 3: Frozen Trone up to the 6th mission this morning and to update this blog too. So much time spent away from my computer and things start to get fragmented and messed up from everyday family use (and yea, do I have to be the computer admin in my family everytime…) An evident ssslowww down is strong and the comp is startin to perform desktop-wise like a pentium 3, gaming wise its still up to standard. *damn what am I sayin’!*

My psychic ablities tell me that it could possiblity be due to resource eating spy & ad wares. So what can a guy do but spend some time researching and getting this niffy software I ponked into, Ad-aware to clear them. (click on the link to access the download site)

Hey I was just lucky… 😀

And yea, how can I forget camp: several interesting stuff happened this week at camp. Reported sick on wednesday for sore eye, got isolated for 2 days, 2 nights in the sickbay… It super BORING there (taking into consideration you are fighting fit being confinded to a room) and getting your eyes saturated with medicated eyedrops for days to come….grrr. But on a bright side, heh, had as much sleep there I can ever get in a week at camp. The medics are a fun bunch to talk to too, funny chaps. Things to look forward to next week are more topo exercises and on the week-end, a 3 day “holiday nature camp”, here comes the privilege of sleeping with the dirt again…

Singnet boardband had increased their bandwidth options up to 1500kbps. The downside? you have to pay for it and its not cheap either (10.40cents/MB):

With SingNet Broadband Bandwidth-on-Demand 1500kbps, you can now download with speeds of up to 1500kbps. As a Value-Added service for SingNet Broadband subscribers (on unlimited access plans 256kbps or 512kbps Unlimited Plan), there is no monthly subscription charges to use the service. Pay for higher bandwidth only when you need it and pay as you use.

yesh!

Thoughts for thoughts: Got a new kaki coloured Nautica basecap cap at suntec last night, now when would I get to wear it then?

Sleepless weekends

0

This blog entry will cover the last two days, as I am quite busy lately, *sighs* didn’t have time to catch any movies this week, but did had a good dinner at MK restaurants’ steamboat buffet on Saturday night. Not bad I say, very value for money at about $23 per head. And yea, the sashimi bar would always be raided as usual… *grins*

And so waking up at 10am on a Sunday did bring back some life from Friday’s massive battery drain. After afew rounds of Counter-Strike 1.6, whizzed down to Funan mall to one of my favorite stores, the Software Boutique. They are retailing Warcraft3: Frozen Trone at $49.90 with a choice of one warcraft 3 action figure or $44.90 without the figure, as these figures can easily go at about $22.90 elsewhere, generally, what else can I do but bringing Stormrage home with me.

Guess that didn’t end here. And yea, I managed to unearth the unholy power and the wonders of your parents joining you in a shopping spree- got a new Casio G-Shock watch to replace my conked out old one due to extensive training outfield and 2 Beverly hills 90210 beach shirts.

Took some “damage” over the week, but everything is largely manageable, so nothing much to worry about- Firstly with eye irritation and sore eyes after being exposed to tear gas as part of “chemical warfare training” yea… Furthermore, think I got the “damp rash” after Friday’s section live firing at Safti… as it was a very wet wet day and smooth sensitive skin *snicker* don’t go well with such damp clothing for more than 28 hours… grr itchy! If this persist on till Monday, would be reporting sick… for the first time.. whee!

Looking at the latest connecting times Singtel had sent, the Siemens SX1 is expected to be release in October this year. Oh well, wait time.

Orchard shopping

0

Its catching up time at orchard again so its shop shop shop. Coincidentally, my sister is involved with some 2 day cultural show at the orchard park (opposite borders), so kinda dropped by to say hi, before heading for dinner at Golden Mile steamboat resturant. As usual, the place is always packed with people, so kinda waited for awhile to get a table.

Warcraft3, Frozen throne is retailing at $49.90 at PK hereen. But I dun have the time to play it anyway, so I would most probably wait get it next week, where I can get cheaper and better deals at SimLim square. The Siemens SX1 phone is nowhere to be seen yet at all M1, starhub and singtel hello! stores, so are info and catalogues. So gotta wait for about 1mth+ before I can get my hands on it. Oh well, tata, for now..

Siemens SX1

0

And now a phone to end my search, and too, a potential succesor of my old Siemens SL45i Mp3 phone, the SX1. Expected to be released in Aug this year, its one phone I would drool for, (though expecting a high price for it) being a Siemens fan myself (*gone are nokia phones man!*)

This one is as small as a Nokia 8250 at 110g, but stuffed inside are tons of features, here are some of them: Bluetooth, MMS, SMS, Video/Still pic camera (24bit at 640×480 res max) with 4x digital zoom, FM Tuner, MP3 Player, Video player/recorder, Voice recorder, Natural loud speaker, High res (176×220) 16-bit colour screen, Office/PDA functions (able to open MS office files, POP3 email), 24MB built in mem + MMC expansion card slot, all running on Symbian OS…. jus to name afew. woot!

Feel free to drop your comments on it!

Back Back, then movies and back again

0

And so, I am back from the tekong resort from the 7.30pm fastcraft. Then it was Terminator 3 at Tampanies. The show, though very very similar to the 1991 blockbuster T2, its too, based on the story of machines taking over the world, blah blah blah… (as if we haven’t got enough of it, esp with Matrix Reloaded) Also, its definately more action packed, continuing much of the much-adandoned-old-story-line, which too, seemlingly left dangling at the end of T3 too… I won’t be amused if T4 comes out soon in the years to come… heh.. T4, the rise of humans? dah!

*Next stop, 2fast 2furious!*

And so what happened thoughout the week which is worth noting? Mmm scored silver again for IPPT, but this time with 23/25 points the best thing is running 2.4km within 10mins flat without a sweat. Gotta shave 5cms of my SBJ (standing board jump) and 16s off my 2.4km run timing to get the gold standard. Its train train train… and try better next time.

There are lots to do tomorrow, mostly outings, dinner, meetings and shopping to do. Gotta make every weekend hour count before I head back to “work” on sun morning *darn* guardduty! Time to get a new watch too, my old casio one conked out after spending to much rough times outfield.

CSv1.6

0

Tried out Valves’ Steam 2.0 program today (after an unsuccessful try few months ago), and what else can you do with Steam but to try out CSv1.6 with it? Heh.. after a few rounds of test-fraggin online, its not bad I say… esp the new guns, ricochet sounds, game physics and game interface. But overall, the game still feels shaky at 60-100fps even with a constant ping of around 37-80. I guess, with so many spoilers in the mod, thats the old halflife engine struggling there. Anyway with Halflife2 in the line of new soon-to-come games, we will see, we will see…. *grins*

For all to wOOoo and enjoy, to download Steam 2.0, head to the downloads section.

Mmm, now to cautiously and wisely spend my remainding 5 hours on mainland before heading back to tekong camp… *sighs*

Just for laughs.

Just came back from a late night show, Charlie Angels- full trottle. And these are shows which makes you wonder how ridiculous certain stunts can possibility turn out into- all with pin-point accuracy and its “always something there for them!” All in hand, it appeals to the general audience with a all good happy ending (like the prince marrying the princess and they all lived happily ever after). Oh well, at least I can commend on the effort into it, not bad overall. *grins*

On now on a-side note, a different topic, wanna try something funny? Just do this:

  • Go to, google.com home page
  • Type “weapons of mass destruction” in the search field.
  • Hit the “I am feeling lucky” button.
  • Read the error message carefully… Hehe

And Mmm yea, frozen throne is out already retailing at a soild $49.90 ouch!

Wonders of tidying your room

0

As chaotic as it looks, its time I started tidying my room… again! And heck didn’t know doing so can land you into a flu, not to mention the amount of dust lifted in the process, talking bout sensitive noses… :p
*time passes* And so everything’s much neater now, personally speaking and did get to “unearth” several old stuffs I’ve not seen for sometime, namely old school bios, photos and such, does bring back lots of old memories. Oh well, it would be sometime before I start the next summer-cleaning up too. 😀 *duh*

On national serivce, time really pass very fast in camp and I am already onto the 3rd (of the 10th week) of BSLC in the specialists’ school. Did really get to learn lots of interesting stuffs there, namely handling genade launchers, LAWS, SAWS, mines and signal sets. And man! they are definately more devastating than what you get to experience in computer games *grins*. Would be “choinging” next week, time to get down and dirty again…

Warcraft3 Frozen throne would be out in 2 days time, would be looking forward to that. Games to look forward to these few months:

yipeez!

Creative, not-so-good warehouse sale

0

And yup, so theres the sale going on at Creative technologies headquarters @ jurong. Went there this morning, reached there at opening time (11am) and heck! 300 people are already there queuing. Queued for some one hour plus (can’t believe I actually did that). Sad to say, everything just kinda sold(ed)-out, darnnn.. so more or less, went back empty handed. Good thing the parking’s free though… but the thing which kinda pissed me off there are the customers there- they are super kiasu. And so it goes on, there are those who can’t stop rushing, cutting queues and there are those who just grab everything in sight, buying things as if everything is free, no $$$ is needed without the care for others… typicals?.. oh well, thats life.

Now for some Battlefield 1942…

Busy Busy

Booked in late afternoon yesterday, so didn’t have time to update on happenings. The first week in Sispec is really one of rush- lessons lectures and practicals. Went out today mostly to buy stores for the course, so quite busy. *looking at the calender* and hey! Creative warehouse would be having a sale next week, would be going with my good old friend Geoffery. Check out their site at www.creative.com for more info.

Would be watching “The Hulk” next week with my NS friends
