Channel I just screened the movie, “The Net”, though quite an old show (1995) it is really a very interesting one depicting what can go wrong in the world of the internet- a very unique idea indeed. Thumbs up to that show!
Day at funan, new printer
Woot!, jus came back from some extra shopping today, got the Canon S520 photo printer at last from PK computers funan the IT mall. Canon is having a student special at $229, (usual $281). though I am not quite a student, lolz, but my I still have my student pass with me.. so it kinda worked, keke. Went to Magic Wok resturant @ the capitol for lunch, not bad I say, very afforable and nice food, the place is not only very popular for their chinese-thai cuisine but with the people working around the central business district, very crowded there during lunchtimes. Furthermore, they don’t charge for service too.
Ok, *breather* well, I am home now, from all those activities, and say! I am very impressed with the printer’s performance- came back home and printed a full color page of one of my artpieces and it came out within about less than 20 seconds! very fine and smooth indeed. The thing which kinda funny is that when the ink’s still wet, the printout smells pretty much like cold hardened chocolate in the fridge!… *duh*
Lastly, my sec sch friend, Peijun is having a chinese dinner gathering next Mon, hope everyone can make it, it will be a bash!
STS107 Columbia tragedy
Since the last shuttle disaster Challenger, Columbia’s one too is indeed a very tragic end.
My prayers to the families of the astronauts Rick D, William C, Michael P, Daivd brown, Kalpana Chawla, Laurel Clark & Ilan Ramon
Also, I’ve found this discussion, it tracks the progress of the mission.

Afternoon shopping
Just came from from some “afternoon shopping” lolz. Dropped by funan to preorder command and conquer generals at the software boutique, funan. It will be out on the 11th Feb in Singapore comfirmed. Dropped down to PK computers store to check out on their offers and say! Lester, your name is still the last one on the list… only two ppl ordered so far.. LOLZ. Went to look at canon and epson printers, and may be considering the Canon S520 for $229 (student offer) Needed a photo printer possiblly to print my art work for sales in the possible future. The salesguy at PK computers attended to me and he’s really very funny, talked bout 1/2 hour bout the printers there, explained almost everything, maybe I would consider buying the printer from PK computers.
After lunch at a Jap resturant with my mum at funan, my watch went dead.. lolz, coincidentally too at 12 noon exact, dropped by the Swatch shop @ Raffles City for a battery change. Didn’t know swatch irony watches are such “battery eaters” didn’t use the stopwatch function often, but this one only lasted one year- the expected time the swatch reps there said too.. *duh*… quite funny as my other mid-range swatch watches are lasting at about 5 years on a single battery go! Checked out the swatch spring-summer collection and say, this collection don’t really appeals to me, consisting of mostly bright, gay and loud and I mean LOUD colours, not my taste (dark and cool… ) hehe.
Currently listening: Hoku- Perfect day

Techno Updates
Sony officials said the company will quietly phase out all of its 17-inch and 19-inch CRT monitors by March 31, part of the industry’s shift away from CRTs to LCD panels. Fans of the popular Sony Trinitron line of monitors and its related aperture-grill technology will be forced instead to purchase Sony’s 21-inch and 24-inch CRT displays. Sony’s decision came as no surprise to those who have closely watched monitor manufacturers slowly shift away from CRT production to manufacturing of LCDs. [ Clicky for more ]
Game Boy Advance SP
Nintendo has announced a new handheld gaming system: the Game Boy Advance SP, shipping in North America on March 23, 2003. The most welcome improvement on the original Game Boy Advance (GBA) is the addition of a screen-illumination feature. Also new is the form factor: The GBA SP flips open for play, making for a sleeker machine and allowing protection of the screen when you’re not playing. This stylish design is expected to appeal to adult players as well as to the younger GBA contingent. The GBA SP will come with a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery rated for 10 hours of game play with the light in use, 18 hours without. Estimated battery life is 3 years (roughly 500 charges). Borging Video!
Started browsing through intervideo’s winproducer “getting started” file and I say, I will be trying my hands finally at DV editing quite soon. ( And a possible revival of the video section ) Kinda fed up with canopus’s EZDV video software, esp kinda messed up their capture tool, which left many hours wasted just trying to capture video from my camcorder. Well things are about to change now.. hopefully with intervideo’s software.
Videos in mind at the moment (planning script phase)
- Class music video (Well, I’ve caught lots of cool footage from this)
- Escape theme park video footage (this is real cool, esp bringing the camera on the rides)
