My Teengames Adventure Race this Saturday will be unlike last year with a stayover and early morning flag off – Besides having to put off with the inconvenience of transporting our own bikes there (no bike rentals this year) and bringing most of our own standard equipment, we also can’t stay over at the event venue (Salvation Army building) and have to do our bag inspection the night before, go home and have the race the next day (defeating the inspection purpose right?).
Moreover, there is no bag storage or campsite so we have to literally carry all out stuff throughout the whole race, risking wetting our clean clothes in our bag in case we go “swimming” in the water obstacles. To make matter worst, flag off timings are pushed to 7am+ so no cooling night advantage and thrills anymore. Luckily for us, we manage to alias an external bike rental, but for an additional $10 bucks (ouch).
Man lets hope this is all of Murphy Law to come, but I can say, the organization for this year’s adventure race is really totally screwed up. There is alot of pre-administrations this year for a very simple race, lucky for us we have the experience and contacts for this. Wonder how are the other teams doing with these arrangements?
