More Event Info

Legs and Paddles comprises of two different disciplines: kayaking and running – two popular sports among Singapore youths. The event aims to encourage the sport of kayaking to more enthusiasts and to provide an avenue for healthy competition.

The event consist of a running segment of 5km, and a kayaking segment of 3 km. It is of an intermediate level which is challenging enough for hardened competing athletes, which still manageable for non-competing athletes. This year, we bring back the ‘It’s a race for life’ tagline with the objective that we have set out 20 years ago. While this event not only serves as a sporting event, at the same time we aim to foster greater awareness towards charitable causes and their needs. We are at the moment working with Singapore Disability Sports Council to have the disabled be part of our activity.

This year also, we will be initiating two new categories, the Challenge category which is double the normal distance for more serious races as well as the clean and dry Brook’s Life Run for those who are interested in running the course without having to get their feet wet.

Legs & Paddles is a much awaited highlight in the local kayaking scene. Past participants of this event have had positive feedback and look forward to this event. Hence, let us enjoy the race for life!
