Let’s take a dine-in at Bistro GardenAsia, located in the remote western part of Singapore at Neo Tiew Crescent, offers a truly unique farm stay dining experience serving local and western cuisines. Nestled on a lush flower and vegetable farm, the setting is picturesque and peaceful, perfect for a meal away from the city’s hustle.

On some history, Gardenasia operates under the Nyee Phoe Group (NPG). It is a family business with roots dating back to 1911. Founded by Eng Hock Lai, who arrived in Singapore from China with horticultural expertise, NPG began as Nyee Phoe Flower Garden. Initially focused on horticulture, the business expanded into landscaping services in 1968 and diversified into gardening products during the 1970s and 1980s. In 1980, NPG launched Petals & Leaves, offering creative floral services.
Since 1997, the company moved to its current 2-hectare site along Neo Tiew Crescent. Despite challenges posed by the remote location, the family persevered, sustaining the business through ventures into lifestyle and nature-based experiences today.
Dining by the lake side
Furthermore, Bistro Gardenasia’s farm setting is one of its most distinctive features. The restaurant’s interior is inviting, featuring wooden tables and chairs, soft lighting, and large windows that showcase the greenery outside. Chill is the word here, dining here feels unhurried with no seating time limits and the restaurant is not overly crowded, though some dishes do sell out if you come late.

Also, the lush, peaceful surroundings enhance the dining experience. The sheltered un-conditioned indoor seating is airy by an artificial lakeside, especially in the evenings. It offers a serene view of the artificial lake and fountains.

The combination of rustic charm and natural beauty sets this restaurant apart. Also, the atmosphere is cosy, making it ideal for both casual meals and special occasions with friends or enjoying a quiet meal.

What is on the menu
In a nutshell, we be focusing more on Bistro Gardenasia’s restaurant western menu offering. Gardenasia’s menu offers a mix of Asian-insipred and Western dishes. The restaurant prides themselves to offer fresh, sustainable ingredients, often sourced directly from their on-site farm.

Furthermore, a recommended dish is the Grilled Ribeye with Red Wine Gravy ($28). The ribeye steak is thick and is marinated with premium beer. It is best grilled medium-rare and topped with a choice of rich red wine sauce. You also get sides of fresh garden vegetables and mashed potatoes. It creates tad a hearty yet balanced meal.
Also, if you prefer sirloin, their steak is cooked to your liking and paired with roasted vegetables and either mashed potatoes or crispy fries. The house-made gravy enhances the flavour, making it a must-try. I found the steaks chewy without having the toughness typically from thin frozen steaks, though it be good if there are larger options on top of the 200grams currently offered.
Can’t go wrong with chicken
Moreover, for chicken lovers, I found their Rosemary Chicken Chop ($16) Tad a crowd-pleaser. The boneless chicken leg is marinated in herbs and spices, with the chicken is grilled until the skin is golden.

Also, it is served with fresh greens tossed in a light vinaigrette, offering a refreshing contrast to the rich, juicy chicken. This dish is both satisfying and reasonably priced for the serving size.

Seafood enthusiasts should consider the Pacific Catch Seafood Platter ($26). This platter is great for sharing in groups and includes a hearty assortment of pan-grilled prawns, king scallops, squid, and seabass fillet, They are all seasoned with garlic, chili, and basil. Also, a key aspect of Bistro Gardenasia is its dedication to sustainable farming. Many ingredients used in their dishes are grown on-site, ensuring freshness and quality.
Moreover, another classic is their Traditional Fish & Chips ($16). The fish fillet, wrapped in a light, crispy beer batter, is flaky and moist. It is served with golden fries and a tangy tartar sauce, it’s a simple dish executed to perfection. Also, the generous portion and fresh taste make it a favourite. The batter is crispy and fish fillet rather sizable too. It tad reminds you of the large fillets offered at Smith’s Fish and Chips.

Lastly, the Pan-Seared Norwegian Salmon Fillet ($26) is another highlight. Also, the salmon is delicately seared and served with garlic butter sauce, garden vegetables, and mashed potatoes. This dish is light yet flavourful, ideal for those seeking a healthier option.
Garden and Nursery
Wrapping up their western menu, beyond dining, the Gardenasia Nursery is a side attraction here worth exploring here. The nursery offers a quite the variety of plants, including flowering species, shrubs, and trees. You can soak in the various types of plants as you stroll through each of the various greenhouses.

It tad caters to both professional landscapers and hobbyist gardeners. Knowledgeable staff are available to share tips on plant care, it makes for a great stop for anyone interested in greenery.
All in all, that wraps up our dine-in here at Bistro Gardenasia. The establishment tad combines means of affordable sustainable food, with a relaxing atmosphere and farm setting to boot. It does make for a memorable dining experience. Hence, whether you are here for a leisurely meal, a special occasion, or looking for a rustic hidden gem in Singapore to enjoy great food and lush surroundings to reconnect with nature from the concrete jungle. It is a destination that’s well worth the trip. Do note that reservations are recommended before visiting and the restaurant is only open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.
