Let’s take a dine-in today at the Yellow Cab Pizza Co. Singapore Located at the CityLink mall. They serve authentic fresh handmade American-style pizzas. Notably, the restaurant had been around for a pretty long time, and is one of the early tenant of the One, Raffles Link mall.
Furthermore, the restaurant itself is not large, and has about 10 tables within a long tables on the outside of the mall, with an outdoor seating area too. It resides in the basement of raffles Ike link which connects Esplanade MRT station to the City link underground mall. A long bar runs the entire length of the pizza joint, you can find crafts beers as well as beer on the tap offered here. Drinking water by the cups is also provided for diner here.
The restaurant interior is themed with traffic signs and lights akin to New York city. Humorously, a Jar Jar Binks Star Wars character standee greets you at the entrance of the restaurant. It adds to the light mood and has an American flair to the ambience.
More Filipino than American
Despite its American name, Yellow Cab Pizza Co. has roots in the Philippines, originating as international pizza chain founded in Makati, Manila on 2001. This Singapore branch, established in 2017 at CityLink mall, is the sole representation in the country among the 200 global outlets.
Here, the restaurant claims to prepare fresh pizza dough daily, ensuring a perfect slight crisp to the crust. Yellow Cab Pizza Co daily menu boasts over 25 food choices. This ranges from pizzas to pastas, wings, and sides, featuring favorites like New York’s Finest, Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta, Dear Darla, Hot Wings, and Twice Baked Potato Halves.
Menu selections
At its heart Yellow Cab pizza Co specializes in New York thin crust pizzas. They are typically large, wide, thin, and foldable, adorned with generous and quality ingredients. The Manhattan Meat Lovers pizza stands out, offering a perfect balance of toppings with a not-too-thick crust.
Additionally, the pizza options cater to various preferences and group sizes. You have four signature options flavours unique to their New York offerings. Examples includes their New York’s Pepperoni, Manhatten Meatlovers and their NY’s finest with Pepperoni, beef, sausage, ham and vegetables.
Also, if you are undecided, their four seasons pizza offers a sampling option with four different flavours per quadrant on on pizza. Classic pizza prices starts from $19.50 for a small 9” to an XL 18” for $50, provide a wide range of choices. For variety, two 12” mediums ($28.50) or a 15” large ($39.50) are recommended serving for 2-3 diners.
Pizzas great for sharing
Also, their classic pizza options, slightly more affordable than the signature ones. Prices start from $18 for small to $45 for XL. Their Pepperoni and Mushroom and BBQ Chicken are nice takes on these classic flavours too. Among these, their Hawaiian pizza, with its timeless combination of ham and pineapple, stands out for good and light flavour.
Wrapping up their pizza are their three premium selections, staring with four seasons (meat or vegetables) or sundried tomato pesto served with button mushroom and cashew nuts. Also, there are 6 thin crust options, though I found their regular pizza offerings already of the thin crust type. Your pizzas are served on a bed of paper and steel pan placed on top of a pizza stand which sits elevated on top of your table.
Wrapping up
Yellow Cab Pizza Co. is not just pizzas, presenting a selection of pastas priced around $20, featuring classics like Mac and Cheese, Aglio Olio, and Spaghetti Bolognese. For those inclined towards chicken dishes, choices like Chicken Alfredo and Charlie Chan Chicken provide interesting alternatives.
Also, if you are hungry or in a group, their platters are good for sharing. These platters, such as the Long Island Platter ($24.80) offers thick-cut fries with American-style Chicken wings in various flavors such as Garlic Parmesan or Korean BBQ, starting from $10.80 for 6 pieces.
Surprisingly, dessert options at Yellow Cab Pizza Co. don’t delve into American classics like deep-dish pizzas or dessert pizzas like the one we had at John’s pizzas sometime back. However, the diverse menu and ambiance cater to a variety of tastes and preferences, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
During my visit, it was apparent that the restaurant attracts a considerable takeaway crowd, with pizza delivery pickups constantly in motion. Yellow Cab Pizza Co. accommodates those who prefer enjoying their pizzas at home or in the office through delivery and takeaway services.
All in all, that wraps up our dine in here at the Yellow Cab Pizza Co. Singapore at CityLink mall. They offers a slice of New York in every bite. Whether you’re seeking a quick lunch, a laid-back dinner, or a late-night snack, the restaurant caters to diverse tastes, making it a noteworthy dining spot in the heart of Singapore.
