- And now for the De young Museum!
- Show your student ID to get half entrance fee!
- Makes your trip more worth by stretching your dollar
- De Young is a Fine Arts Museum
- bu tthere's more to that
- blending modern and traditional art together
- many of the main galleries feature modern art
- arts of the streets
- pieces done using non-traditional media
- and items,
- idolisations
- and the occasional blot of paint!
- but that's modern art per se
- This is an interesting piece
- made mainly out of guns parts
- teeth and spent bullet casings
- including bones of a spine
- closeup of the detail
- it gets more whacked up here
- explosion!
- now for art of a more mellow kind
- shaped glass pieces
- including porcelain vases
- some with rather neat designs
- some little more crazy than the other
- some having more feathers than the rest
- but it's all expressionist art
- and that mostly fuels the modern art scene
- you will either love it or hate it
- art after all lies in the beauty of the beholder
- historical artefacts sections
- including ancient pottery
- with a few crazy touches
- and positions!
- American ancient art
- you can learn alot from the volunteer guides around the museum
- so its it art that is American?
- who yer looking at?
- shamanic bear, with 5+ to attack!
- so this is how they pen journal before the blogging days
- more cased artefacts
- side by side, the old and new
- I call this, the formal man and fruit!
- The upper floors of the museum
- looking down!
- older displays are kept up here
- including more traditional victorian art
- with a few modern touches
- not to mention peculiar ones!
- double rainbow!
