Britain's premiere national museum of international modern art. Walk through the modern art galleries of Britain's national museum of international modern art. Originally designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, the architect of Battersea Power Station, and built in two stages between 1947 and 1963. The Tate was power station before it closed in 1981.
- In London for a walk!
- This time around St Pauls.
- Don't see many of these old buses around anymore.
- Heading towards the Thames
- We get to meet the invisible guy again!
- Crossing the Millenium bridge, with the Tate in the distance
- Guess I frequent this place enough times enough to know every every nook and canny
- Here we are, with the iconic facade
- The place used to be a huge bankside power station
- thus the large cavernous spaces.
- A taste of size from the ground turbine floor
- I feel the air, move, over my head...
- Now to check out the exhibits!
- An art timeline stretches across ever floor
- A view of the art galleries
- Interesting to know art developments here
- Some of the special displays which require an entrance fee
- A view from the museum cafe
- A hulk of steel, literally :P
- A very interesting take on human geography
- Looks just like my dorm laundry pile. :P
- A geographical take of art. :3
- You just got to love the simplicity of modern art.
- Trace and follow the lines. :P
- A pile of wood display. :3
- Few of the public viewing areas
- A comical approach to art! Comic is art afterall!
- Some of the many open displays
- Nice collection of lithographs
- Is bleak... :P
- Tiles galore!
- Musings of a man's mind
- Modern art is modern
- They are supposed to be straight right?
- Outward!
- A display by Gorky
- A view of the outer indoors from the museum
- I used to make pop up cards as a kid
- Seems pop art is cool again.
- Back to St Pauls!
- Artists on the bridge on my way back.
- Random street musings
- Till then, that's all for the visit to the Tate!
